Building on the success of the OD505 vocal microphone, the OD5 inherits the same active dynamic circuitry, providing optimized signal integrity. The versatility of this circuit makes it ideal for a range of recording applications, from guitar amps to wind instruments and front-end drums. The active dynamic capsule is handcrafted in Vienna, to meticulous standards to ensure the highest quality audio performance. The rich, transparent sound helps ensure that longer cables won't degrade your signal quality.

Built-in high pass filter and -10 dB pad

Building on the success of previous models in the OC Series, Austrian Audio has incorporated the same principles that have made its siblings so sought after. In addition to the innovative rotary joint design, the OD5 also features built-in attenuation that allows you to adjust the overall sound of the microphone. The built-in filter lets you choose between two different settings. By setting the filter to 80Hz, the OD5 applies a CAB (Cut and Boost) filter, which is useful for recording guitar amps and other high-level sound sources. The second position, at 120Hz, can be used as a standard second-order high-pass filter, which is ideal for eliminating unwanted background noise.
