Featuring a custom hand-built capsule, the OC7 delivers natural, transparent sound thanks to its linear frequency response and ability to withstand high sound pressure levels (SPL). It is also characterized by a very low self-noise level, resulting in a clean and focused overall sound.

The result is a natural, open sound, with silky mids and highs and a full-bodied bass response. The OCC7 capsule is inspired by the iconic CK1 capsule, combining elements of the original design with modern innovations. The capsule itself consists of a polyethylene naphthalate diaphragm (pen) covered with gold three microns thick, which gives it great robustness.

Built-in high pass filter and -10 dB pad

Building on the success of previous models in the OC Series, Austrian Audio has incorporated the same principles that have made its siblings so sought after. In addition to the innovative rotary joint design, the OC7 also features built-in attenuation that allows you to adjust the overall sound of the microphone. The inclusion of a switchable high-pass filter lets you shape your sound and is ideal for eliminating unwanted low-frequency growl in certain spaces. There are two settings to choose from - 40Hz (2nd order) and 80Hz (2nd order) as well as the inclusion of -10dB analog pad for added versatility.
