VCA500 is intended to:
- Increase or decrease digital signal nominal level. For instance a -21 dBFs signal can be increased to -18 dBFS, or -15 dBFs.
- Adjust a digital signal level,in using a potentiometer, like to remote control amplified loudspeaker with digital input.
- Interface several sound level limiters like SNA50/SNA70 to control one or more digital channels. Example: using sound level limiters in large rooms, cascading allows multi channel regulations.

VCA500 allows to control the digital audio signal level. It is made of two main sections:
- One fixed gain stage (+/- 12 dB)
- One adjustable gain stage, remotely controlled using a normal potentiometer.
- One peakmeter displaying the digital audio signal filling, allows a accurate gain setting.
- XLR digital input and transformer (AES/EBU)
- XLR digital output and transformer (AES/EBU)
- Manage all digital audio signals formats
- Indicator of digital source errors.
