To improve the performance of ControlTL systems when paired with Canon 580EX, 580EX II and 430EX flashes, PocketWizard has developed the AC7 shield. The AC7 shell is made of a material that effectively prevents RF interference (EMI) from jamming the FlexTT5 antenna. To block interference propagating into the shoe connections, an electronic filter has been added to a shoe built into the AC7. The AC7 shielding thus allows the FlexTT5 to receive transmissions at distances 300-500% farther than before and well within most off-screen lighting requirements.
